Happy Birthday Week 5!

Yup, that's right, January has 5 Thursdays! That means you get an extra bonus set of Birthday ideas from our Dreamweaver Design Team! We'd love for you to play along with us, and link your creations to the Inlinkz tool at the bottom of this post, or on the Dream It Up! blog, for a chance to win the stencil of your choice...and remember, using Dreamweaver products gets you bonus points towards an extra stencil!
I'm back in Cincinnati this week playing with my grandkids, but here's what I created for my birthday wish this week:

Chunky Art Tools - LG761, Splats - LJ801, happy birthday - LM248

This would be a great card for a child, or your artistic friends! It's easy to make too!
  • Paste emboss the NEW Chunky Art Tools (LG761) stencil with Regular Embossing Paste, let dry
  • Put your clean, dry stencil back over the dry paste and add color using  small stencil brushes and inks (I used Memento)
  • Cut out the paint brush, mount on black and cut out again
  • Dry emboss the Splats (LJ801) stencil on white cardstock
  • Leave the stencil in place and add color with stencil brushes
  • Place the happy birthday (LM248) stencil on white cardstock and ink with red ink, add a few splats too!
  • Mount the happy birthday and Splats on a black mat
  • Assemble into a fun, colorful card!

Happy Birthday! Week 4

Welcome to the birth of a new year...2015 to be precise! In honor of that, we've decided that our monthly challenge for January will be Birthday Wishes. We'd love for you to play along with us, and link your creations to the Inlinkz tool at the bottom of this post, or on the Dream It Up! blog, for a chance to win the stencil of your choice...and remember, using Dreamweaver products gets you bonus points towards an extra stencil! Remember, Dreamweaver Stencils is now a part of Stampendous! Click here to read all about it!

Here's my birthday wish for this week using the fun new Fairy (LG762) stencil:

Paste emboss the Fairy stencil with Regular Embossing Paste, remove stencil
Sprinkle the wings with clear glitter, pressing it VERY gently into the wet paste
Let the paste dry, clean your stencil
Do the same for the "Make a Wish" portion of LG704 Birthday words stencil,
no glitter, just let it dry
Place the clean dry stencil back on the Fairy and use stencil brushes to add color,
the Picasso stencil (LL332) is essential when doing details!
(I used Distress inks - tattered rose, worn lipstick, antique linen)
Color the Make a Wish also

I wish I had left the words white and sprinkled them with glitter, but oh well, next time
To make them a little sparkly I went over the words with a Stardust pen

I added Stardust pen to the "skin" of my Fairy too!

Happy Birthday Week 3!

Welcome to our Birthday celebration for the year 2015!

My creation this week didn't turn out how I had first envisioned it, but I really like it. I meant for it to have a more Spring-time feel, because we could use a little Spring here in northern IL! Here's my birthday wish for this week:

LX7014 Daisy background - dry embossed on glossy cardstock, colored with Color Solutions Alcohol Inks
LL548 Daisies - paste embossed with Glossy Black, FX Powders sprinkled on then heated, outlined with a fine tip Sharpie

LG704 Birthday words stenciled with black ink

Here's my birthday wish for this week:

.

In honor of the merger of Dreamweaver Stencils into the Stampendous company, I used the beautiful fuchsia stamp from Stampendous and LS1010 Sm Happy Birthday from Dreamweaver Stencils.
I used water base markers to color the fuchsia stamp, spritzed it with a fine mist of water, and stamped it on watercolor paper. Using a small paintbrush and water, I moved the color off the lines, picking up more color from my craft mat as needed. After that had dried a little, I cleaned the stamp, re-inked it with Archival Jet Black, and over stamped the colored image to add back the detail. The Happy Birthday stencil was taped in the lower corner and paste embossed with Matte Black Embossing Paste. A beautiful bow from May Arts finished it off!

Here's my birthday wish for this week:

Happy, happy birthday to my dear friend, Lynell. You are an amazing woman, and I am so grateful you have let me be a part of your team. Wishing you a wonderful, happy year.
Alas, I am still in Cincinnati and have no supplies with me, so Ellie helped me create this masterpiece for your birthday. We had a lot of fun making it and we hope you like it!

The other reason I've gotten nothing created is the birth of our second beautiful granddaughter on December 26th. We have been having a great time playing with Ellie and holding Penny, life is good!
