Leaf Texture Embellishments!

As promised yesterday, here are the instructions for creating some Fresh Fall Fun embellishments using the Dreamweaver Leaf Texture Stencil (DWLG616) and Regular Embossing Paste!
Leaf Texture Embellishments!
Stampendous:

Dreamweaver:
DWLG616 Leaf Texture Stencil
DWDEP Regular Embossing Paste
DWDPK Dreamweaver Palette Knife
DWLM2010 Paste Spreader
DWGHB-6 1/4" Brush #6 Gold Handle

Plus:
Freezer Paper
Brilliance Inks - Sunflower Yellow, P. Orange, Rocket Red, P. Rust, P. Olive, P. Thyme
Copic Marker E47
Removable tape

Instructions:
Step 1:  Tape the Leaf Texture stencil to the shiny side of a sheet of Freezer Paper

Step 2:  Use a palette knife and paste spreader to apply Regular Embossing Paste over  the design, remove stencil, place stencil on a clean part of the paper and apply paste again, repeat until you fill the paper or the images don't come out clean anymore, let paste dry

Step 3:  Place the clean, dry stencil back over the dry paste, use 1/4" stencil brushes to rouge colors on the designs, remove the stencil, clean and dry it

Step 4:  Use the brush tip of the E47 marker to run around the edges of the leaves to give them a more finished look

Step 5: Slowly peel off the leaves you want, you have to be a little careful at this point, they can tear easily

Step 6: Use glue to add them as embellishments to cards or page layouts

Fresh Fall Fun!

Fresh Fall Fun is this week's theme for the Stampendous Design Team. I don't know why I associate Scarecrows with Fall, but I do! (Really, they go up in the spring!) It's probably because St. Charles, IL (where we had our store) has a Scarecrow festival every Fall. At any rate, Fall and Scarecrows go hand in hand in my book.

Today is Thursday, which means team members share ideas using stencils. Today I'm sharing a fun card using the Dreamweaver Scarecrow stencil, DWLG686.  Check back tomorrow to see how I created the leaf embellishments!

Supplies:

Stampendous:
PK03 Gemstone Embossing Kit
EPA50 HT400 Embossing Tool

Dreamweaver:
DWLG686 Scarecrow Stencil
DWLG616 Leaf Texture Stencil
DWDMBP Matte Black Embossing Paste
DWDPK Dreamweaver Palette Knife
DWLM2010 Paste Spreader

Plus:
My Color Cardstock - Spanish Moss
Graphic 45 November Flourish 4501050
Graphic 45 Charmed I'm Sure 4501143
Graphic 45 Brews and Potions 4501144
Brown Burlap
Copic Marker 100
Removable Tape
Foam Tape
Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive

Instructions:
Step 1:  Fold a 6" x 10" piece of Spanish Moss cardstock in half to form side fold, 5" x 6" card (fits in an A7 envelope)
Step 2: Cut a 4 3/4" x 5" piece of the Brews and Potions paper (purple side), edge with 100, adhere to the card front near the top
Step 3: Cut a 2 3/4" x 4 3/4" piece of the brown burlap, fray the edges, adhere to the card front under the top paper
Step 4: Cut a 3 3/4" x 4 3/4" piece of the Charmed I'm Sure paper, edge with 100
Step 5:  Tape the Scarecrow stencil to a 3 1/2" x 4 1/2" piece of November Flourish paper (green side) with removable tape
Step 6:  Use a palette knife and paste spreader to apply Matte Black Embossing Paste over the design, remove stencil and place in water for cleaning later, let paste dry
Step 7: When the paste is dry, place the clean, dry Scarecrow stencil back over paste and use a finger dabber to apply VersaMark to the parts of the image where the "clothes" are, remove stencil, sprinkle various colors of embossing powder where desired, tap off extra, heat set, edge with the 100 marker
Step 8: Adhere the Scarecrow to the Charmed I'm Sure layer
Step 9:  Use foam tape to add the Scarecrow to the card
Step 10:  Use the Quick Dry to add some small pasted leaf embellishments (see separate instructions for DWLG616 Leaf Texture in tomorrow's post!) and a small bundle of the burlap tied together to finish the card

Welcome Little One!

Welcome to the finale of the Stampendous and Tando Creative Blog Hop! We have had a great time this week sharing our projects that combine the products from these two wonderful companies! A big THANK YOU to Tando Creative for their generous gift of products to our design team!!

"Welcome Little One"
  • I started this sweet project  by cutting a piece of Mixed Media White Paper to fit the solid background piece of chipboard in this kit (just in the framed area).
  • Stamped a few stars from the ADORABLE Little Angels Clear Set (SSCP101) in the upper left corner, colored the stars with Copic Sketch Markers (Y02, Y08, Y17), and adding a little green around the edges (G12), glue to the solid back piece of the frame set
  • On another piece of White Paper, stamp the angel, bear, clouds, hearts, and color them with Copics (R30, R81, Y02, Y08, Y17, E51, E53, E15, G12, B0000, BG32, G00), cut them all out
  • Glue the four inside frame pieces over the back piece, lining up the edges carefully (there are 5 cut out frame pieces, but one is different, that's the main frame piece)
  • Wipe Dreamweaver Regular Embossing Paste all over the main frame piece, it will be a little fluffy looking (like a cloud!), set aside to dry
  • Use foam tape to place your angel and bear on the frame background, add some hearts too.
  • Stamp the "Welcome Little One" on a piece of white, use the Fitted Frames B Die Cut Set to cut out the words and a matching frame mat
  • When the paste on the frame is dry (about 30 minutes or so depending on how thick it is), use color the edges with G12 and the rest with  R30, glue to the base
  • Use glue and foam tape to embellish the frame with the saying, clouds and hearts, add a little bow and your done!

Here are some close ups to see the details better!

Swim with Passion!

Welcome to the Stampendous and Tando Creative Blog Hop! We are having a great time this week sharing our projects that combine the products from these two wonderful companies! A big THANK YOU to Tando Creative for their generous gift of products to our design team!!

Today I am combining some Stampendous stamps, a technique from Fran's Embossing Powder Techniques from A to Z Book,  with an Arch from Tando Creative to create a great summery card.
Supplies:

Stampendous:
CRS5088 Cling Pearl Mermaid Set
SSC1246 Ocean Wisdom Perfectly Clear Set
EPBK16 Embossing Powder Techniques From A- Z Book
EK22 Beach Embossing Kit
FREG004 Deep Impressions Chunky Embossing Enamel
MWP811 Mixed Media White Paper
Acrylic Handle
MEM01 Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink by Tsukineko®

Plus:
My Color Cardstock - Sandy Beach, Sky, Winter Lake
Tando Creative Straight Edge Arches small
Copic Marker 100, 0
Electric Griddle
Foam Tape

Instructions:
Step 1:  Fold a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Sandy Beach cardstock in half to form an A2 card
Step 2: Cut a 2" x 5 1/2" pieces of Sky, Winter Lake and white cardstock, tear along one long edge of each to create different layers, adhere behind each other to create the "ocean", adhere to the card front
Step 3:  Stamp the saying on a small  piece of white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, cut a piece of Winter Lake a little larger, tear the edges, adhere the saying to the blue mat
Step 4:  I used Technique Y, from Fran's book to create the seahorse arch panel, see the version on pages 82-83
Step 5:  To adhere the Seahorse arch, I used ZipDry along the bottom and foam tape at the top
Step 6: Use foam tape to attach the saying
Here's a close up of the embossed arch:
The best part of this technique is you really can't make a mistake! That little swirl along the bottom is a happy accident!  To darken up the Seahorse image, I used a black Copic to outline the whole image, but I didn't like how dark it was so I went back over the whole think with the Colorless Blender (0) to remove some of the black ink. When you do this, you have to keep cleaning off the tip of the colorless marker. But now, I love it!

The Tando Creative product is their Straight Edge Arches Small and looks like this:

You get three full sets of arches to use together or separately like I have done.
