Church in the Valley

We're in the final days before Christmas and the Stampendous Design Team is sharing samples featuring some of our inspirational designs. The Church in the Valley (DWLG652) stencil with an embossed background using the Holly Scroll stencil (FMS4044) makes into a peaceful card.

Instructions:
Step 1:  Fold a 7" x 10" piece of Madras Blue cardstock in half to form an A7 card
Step 2: Tape the Church stencil to a 3 1/2" x 4 1/2" piece of White cardstock with removable tape
Step 3:  Use stencil brushes to add color to the image
Step 4:  Leave the stencil in place and use a fine line black pen to add some detail lines where wanted, remove stencil, add a little brown shading at base of church and trees
Step 5:  Use a 1/2" brush to rouge some blue ink in sky and around the edges
Step 6: Use the soft paint brush to add some glue between the stenciled design, sprinkle wet glue with Crystal Glitter, tap off extra, let dry
Step 7:  Dry emboss the Holly Scroll design on a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of White cardstock using a rubber embossing mat and die cut machine
Step 8: Trim the embossed image close to the design for a finished size of 3 3/4" x 5", brush along the edges with Bahama Blue ink using the 1/2" stencil brush
Step 9: Adhere small 1/2" x 5" strips of Deep Indigo paper to the two long edges of the Holly Scroll, then adhere the Holly Scroll to the left side of the card front
Step 10:  Adhere the Church to a 3 5/8" x 4 5/8" mat of Madras Blue, then to a 3 7/8" x 4 7/8"" mat of Deep Indigo
Step 11:  Use Foam Tape to add the Church image to the card front

Wise Men from afar

We're in the final days before Christmas and the Stampendous Design Team is sharing samples featuring some of our inspirational designs. The combination of Dreamweaver's Wise Men Stencil (DWLL306) and the beautiful  Quiet Beauty (V324) sentiment fit the Christmas Season perfectly.

Instructions:
Step 1:  Fold a 6" x 9 1/2" piece of Velvet Night cardstock in half to form an A6 card
Step 2: Tape the Wise Men stencil to a 3 1/4" x 4" piece of cream cardstock with removable tape, taping off below the "sky"


Step 3:  Use the 1/2" stencil brush to rouge the Paris Dusk and Grape Jelly inks into the top opening of the stencil, remove and clean stencil


Step 4:  Tape the clean, dry stencil back over the sky area lining up the "ground" and star from the lower part of the stencil


Step 5:  Use a palette knife and paste spreader to apply a coat of Metallic Gold Embossing Paste over the stencil, remove stencil and place in water for cleaning


Step 6:  Sprinkle Crystal glitter on the"sand" and star, tap off extra, let paste dry

Step 7:  When the paste is dry, trim around the image leaving a small cream border all the way around

Step 8: Stamp the Quiet Beauty on a 2 1/4" X 2 7/8"  piece of cream cardstock using the Paris Dusk ink, use the markers to color holly, use the 1/2" brush to rouge Paris Dusk around the outside and along the edge
Step 9:  Cut a 2 1/2" x 3 1/8" piece of cream, adhere the saying to the cream mat
Step 10:  Wrap two pieces of the blue ribbon around the bottom part of the card and hold in place on the front with Craft Glue Dots
Step 11: Adhere Wise Men to the upper left of the card
Step 12: Use foam tape to add the saying to the lower right

Step 2:  Stamp the Singing Angel image on a 3 1/8" x 4 5/8" piece of white cardstock with Tuxedo Black ink, color with Copic markers
Step 3: Cut a 3 1/4" x 4 3/4" piece of Deep Indigo, adhere the angel to this mat
Step 4:  Adhere a 3 3/4" x 5 1/4" piece of white to a 3 7/8" x 5 3/8" piece of Deep Indigo, adhere both to the card front
Step 5:  Use foam tape to attach the Angel image
Step 6:  Wrap the white ribbon around the card front near the left side and tie a bow

Instructions:
Step 1:  Fold a 7" x 10" piece of Parrot cardstock in half to form an A7 card
Step 2: Tape the Snowglobe stencil to a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of white cardstock with removable tape
Step 3: Use stencil brushes and the Picasso tool to apply inks to the various parts of the design, remove and clean the stencil
Step 4: Reposition the clean, dry stencil over the colored image and tape in place with removable tape
Step 5:  Use a palette knife and paste spreader to apply Translucent Embossing Paste over the design, remove stencils and place in water for cleaning later
Step 6:  Sprinkle the wet paste with Crystal Glitter on the globe part only, tap off extra, let paste dry
Step 7: When the paste is dry, mount image on a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of Brown Eyes, and adhere to the upper left side of the card
Step 8: Remove the top release paper from 3 white foam squares and sprinkle them with Crystal glitter, tap off extra, peel off the bottom release paper and place one in each of the top corners of the Snowglobe, and one in the bottom left corner
Step 9: Stamp the Quiet Beauty saying on a 2 1/4" x 2 3/4" piece of white cardstock using the Coffee Bean ink, color the holly with the Copic markers
Step 10: Measure up from the bottom 1 7/8" on each side, draw a light line across the top of the saying stopping and startin on each side of the holly, trim across the top cutting around the holly
Step 11:  Mount the saying on a 2" x 2 7/8" piece of Brown Eyes, use foam tape to apply the saying to the bottom right corner of the  card front

Instructions:
Step 1:  Fold a 7" x 10" piece of Sky cardstock in half to form an A7 card
Step 2: Cut a 2 1/2" x 3 3/4" piece of Sky cardstock, tape the Season's Greetings stencil on it with removable tape
Step 3:  Tape the Snowflake Cascade stencil to the left side of the card front with removable tape
Step 4:  Use a palette knife and paste spreader to apply Glossy White Embossing Paste over the designs, remove stencils and place in water for cleaning later
Step 5:  Sprinkle the wet paste with Crystal Glitter, tap off extra, let paste dry
Step 6: Mount the dry Season's Greetings on a 2 3/4" x 4" mat of white cardstock
Step 7:  Use foam tape to apply the saying to the card front

Merry Christmas!

Do you need some last minute Christmas cards? Here's a cute, easy card to send to those on your Nice list! It features the Long Stocking Stencil (DWLL499) from Dreamweaver.


Supplies:

Stampendous:
MGK02 Christmas Micro Glitter Set

DWLL499 Long Stocking Stencil
DWLS92 Merry Christmas Stencil

Plus:
My Color Cardstock Dare Devil
Double sided mounting paper
VersaMark Ink
Foam Tape

Instructions:
Step 1:  Fold a 6" x 9 1/2" piece of Dare Devil cardstock in half to form an A6 card
Step 2: Cut six pieces of white cardstock 1/2" x 4 5/8" , adhere in a stripe pattern across the red card front leaving a small red edge all around
Step 3:  Cut a 2 1/4" x 6" piece of the Dare Devil and adhere a 2" x 6" piece of double sided mounting paper to it, leaving a small red showing on the long edges
Step 4:   Cut a 1 5/8" x 2 5/8" piece of Dare Devil and adhere a 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" piece of double sided mounting paper to it, leaving a small red showing all around
Step 5:  Pat VersaMark all over the back of the Long Stocking Stencil
Step 6: Remove the release paper from the double sided mounting paper and carefully place the stencil on the sticky surface with the VersaMark side against the sticky surface, use a piece of release paper to press the stencil in place
Step 7:  Apply the red, green, and gold glitters to the design, work in small sections at a time so you can tap off away from areas you want to protect, rub it in a little as you go
Step 8: Turn the glittered image face down on a paper towel and carefully peel the paper off the stencil making sure to keep the stencil flat on the table, apply Crystal glitter to the background, tap off extra
Step 9: Repeat steps 5 through 8 for the Merry Christmas, but use red on the "M" and "C" and green on the other letters
Step 10:  Adhere the Long Stocking near the left side of card front
Step 11:  Use Foam Tape to add the Merry Christmas image

Need a quick tag for your Christmas packages? Here's an easy little tag idea for you using the To/From Holly Stencil (DWLS64):

Instructions:
Step 1:  Cut a 2 3/8" x 3 3/4" piece of the Graphic 45 HoHoHo paper, trim the corners at an angle at one end, edge with Copic 100
Step 2: Tape the Holly part of the stencil to the upper left corner of the tag, taping off the words for now
Step 3:  Use stencil brushes to add color to the image, use the Picasso to keep colors clean and to add the veins to the leaves, outline the openings with the fine line black pen
Step 4: Remove stencil, wipe clean with a soft rag
Step 5:  Tape the stencil back down to stencil the To/From below the holly, remove stencil and add a little Cottage Ivy around the edges if you want them a deeper color
Step 6: Punch a small hole at the angled end of the tag, add the small ribbon through the hole

Snowflake To/From

Our Stampendous Design Team theme this week is "Santa, I've Been Good!". Here's a quick and easy project to make gift card giving fun for all your "good" family and friends! It uses the To/From Snowflake Stencil (DWLS25) from the Dreamweaver line.

Mini Glue Dots

Instructions:
Step 1:  Cut a 3" x 4 3/4" piece of the Ocean Side cardstock
Step 2: Tape the Snowflake To/From stencil to the lower left corner of the white bag with removable tape
Step 3:  Use a stencil brushes to add color to the image,  carefully remove the stencil, tape off the words and stencil more snowflakes around the front of the bag, leaving room for adding names, clean stencil
Step 4: Adhere the stenciled bag to the blue cardstock, trim top edge of the blue to match the angle of the bag
Step 5:  Wrap a piece of ribbon around the tag and adhere to front with Mini Glue Dots, tie a small matching bow and add with another Mini Glue Dot

Step 4:  Trim the background image tight to the design (so it is 3 3/4" x 5"), edge with the B05 marker
Step 5:  Cut out Santa's Pick Up, edge with the 100 marker
Step 6: Adhere the ribbon across the background with Fabri Tac, trim edges of ribbon
Step 7:  Adhere the colored background image to the card front
Step 8: Use foam squares (cut apart in some of the smaller areas) to attach Santa's Pick Up to the card front

Instructions:
Step 1:  Fold a 6" x 9 1/2" piece of Oceanside cardstock in half to form an A6 card
Step 2:  Stamp the Snowman Tree image on a 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" piece of white cardstock with Tuxedo Black ink, color with Copic markers
Step 3:  Stamp the Best of All saying on a 2" x 2 3/4" piece of white cardstock with Tuxedo Black ink
Step 4: Use a Fitted Frames Set B size H on the saying, and size P on the snowman to die cut the images, cut matching mats from the Mint Julep paper
Step 5:  Cut a 2 1/4" x 5 3/4" piece of the HoHoHo paper (green side), use the 1/2" brush to add a little Cottage Ivy around the edges, then run the ink pad along each edge, adhere to the left side of the card front
Step 6:  Run the Cottage Ivy ink pad along the edges of the two Mint Julep frames
Step 7:  Adhere the Snowman to its mat and then to the lower right corner of the card front
Step 8: Use foam tape to attach the saying in the upper left
Step 9: Use a palette knife to dab some Regular Embossing Paste along the bottom of the Snowman to look like "snow", sprinkle wet paste with Crystal Glitter, tap off extra, let dry well

Skater Family!

I'm combining the weekly theme with our Stencil Thursday theme. What's better than spending time at the holidays with family and friends! This great Skater Family (DWLL575) from the Dreamweaver Stencils line is paired with the beautiful new Holly Pattern Metal Stencil (FMS4043) from Stampendous and Dreamweaver's Merry Christmas stencil (DWLS92).

Step 1:  Fold a 7" x 10" piece of Sky cardstock in half to form an A7 card
Step 2: Cut a 1 1/2" x 2 5/8" piece of Sky cardstock, tape the Merry Christmas stencil on it with removable tape
Step 3:  Cut a 2 5/8" x 5 1/2" piece of Sky cardstock, tape the Skater Family stencil on it with removable tape
Step 4:  Use a palette knife and paste spreader to apply Glossy White Embossing Paste over the designs, remove stencils and place in water for cleaning later
Step 5:  Sprinkle the wet paste with Crystal Glitter, tap off extra, let paste dry
Step 6: Mount the dry Merry Christmas  on a 1 3/4" x 2 7/8" mat of white cardstock and the Skater Family on a 2 7/8" x 5 3/4" white mat
Step 7:  Use the Rubber Embossing Mat and die cut machine to dry emboss a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of white using the Holly Pattern stencil, trim the embossed image close to the design
Step 8:  Use a 1/2" stencil brush and the Summer Sky ink to brush some color over the embossed design, then use the edge of the ink pad along the edge of the panel to darken it
Step 9:  Adhere the Holly Pattern near the upper left corner of the card and the Skater Family near the lower right
Step 10:  Use foam tape to apply the Merry Christmas to the card front

Winter Friends!

DECEMBER!!! Wait, how did this happen! I'm not anywhere near ready for it to be December and definitely am not ready for WINTER! But we don't really have a say, so let's brighten up the week with some darling samples using the sweet Winter Friends set from Stampendous! 


Today I'm sharing a card featuring the new penguin from the Winter Friends Stamp Set (CRS5091) and the matching Die Cut Set (DCS5091). I've paired him with the new Festive Background Stamp (CRR272).  I shared this card right after our release in July, but just in case you weren't ready for Christmas in July, here it is again!

Step 3: Stamp the Penguin, Penguin arms, Hat, and Candy Cane from the Winter Friends set on a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, color with Copic Markers
Step 4:  Use the matching Winter Friends Die Cut Set to die cut the colored images
Step 5:  Adhere a 3 7/8" x 5 1/4" piece of Winter Lake to a 4 1/8" x 5 1/2" piece of Ocean Side and adhere both to the card front towards the top
Step 6: Adhere the Festive Background to the two blue mats
Step 7:  Apply a 3/4" x 4 1/8" piece of double-sided adhesive across the Festive Background layer about 1" up from the bottom, remove release paper and sprinkle with Crystal Glitter
Step 8: Adhere a 1 7/8" x 2 5/8" piece of white to a 2" x 2 3/4" piece of Winter Lake, lining up the bottom edges, adhere above the glittered piece towards the left a little
Step 9: Use foam tape to place the Candy Cane and Arms on the Penguin, adhere hat, use foam tape to add the Penguin to the card over the white and blue mat and glitter strip
Step 10: Take the top release paper off three white foam squares and cover with Crystal Glitter, adhere one to the left of the Penguin, and two to the right

Here's a close up to show you how perfectly the die set matches the stamps. I love how close the cuts are to the outline.

Instructions:
Step 1:  Red Cardstock - 5 pieces 3" x 3", 4 pieces 2 1/2" x 2 1/2", 5 pieces 2 1/4" x 2 1/4"
Step 2: White cardstock 4 pieces 3" x 3", 5 pieces 2 1/2" x 2 1/2", 4 pieces 2 1/4" x 3"
Step 3:  Use removable tape to tape off the "O" and "Y" on the Joy Ornament stencil, tape the "J" to the center of one of the 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" pieces of red cardstock
Step 4:  Use a palette knife and paste spreader to apply a coat of Glossy White Embossing Paste over the image, remove stencil and place in water for cleaning, sprinkle wet paste with Crystal glitter, tap off extra, let paste dry
Step 5:  Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the "O" and "Y" taping off the other letters
Step 6:  Use removable tape to tape the Snowflake Stencil to one of the 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" pieces of red cardstock
Step 7:  Use a palette knife and paste spreader to apply a coat of Glossy White Embossing Paste over the image, remove stencil and place in water for cleaning, sprinkle wet paste with Crystal glitter, tap off extra, let paste dry
Step 8:  Repeat steps 6 and 7 for the second snowflake
Step 9: Use Memento Tuxedo Black to stamp the Candy Cane Kiss image 4 times on 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" pieces of white, color with Copic Markers
Step 10:  Use a centering ruler across each image to mark 1 1/8" to each side of center, trim each side for a finished size of 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" trimming around the tails
Step 11:  Layer the "JOY" letters and the 2 snowflakes onto white mats 2 1/2" x 2 1/2", then on to the 3" x 3" red
Step 12: Layer the Candy Cane Kiss images onto red 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" mats, then on the 3" x 3" white
Step 13: Use a grid ruler to help line up and adhere the squares 1" in from the top and sides and 1/2" between each letter on a 12" x 12" piece of HoHoHo cardstock, leave a 1/2" between the rows
Step 14:  Frame in a white 12" x 12" frame
