Hummingbird Sparkle!

Have you made your Mother's Day card yet?  It's May already so you better get busy. The Stampendous Design Team will be posting some great ideas all week for our "Celebrate Mom!" theme to help inspire you! I am so lucky to be on this Design Team, we receive lots of free products to create wonderful samples.

Who doesn't love some glitter in their life! I used the Double Glitter Technique to blend some Lime and China Blue Micro glitter on these beautiful stencils. Crystal micro glitter in the background sets off the colors perfectly.

Supplies:

Stampendous:
FMS4057 Lace Metal Stencil
MG09 China Blue Micro Glitter
MG08 Lime Micro Glitter
MG01 Crystal Micro Glitter
MMW811 Mixed Media White Paper

Dreamweaver:
DWLM113 Hummingbird Stencil

Plus:
My Color Cardstock - Spanish Moss, Ocean Side
Double sided mounting paper
VersaMark Ink
Foam Tape

Instructions:
Step 1:  Fold a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of Spanish Moss cardstock in half to form an A2 card
Step 2: Cut a 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" piece of blue cardstock and adhere a 2 1/4" x 3 1/2" piece of double sided mounting paper to it, leaving a small blue edge showing on all sides
Step 3:  Cut a 2 3/4" x 6" piece of white cardstock and adhere a 2 1/2" x 6" piece of double sided mounting paper to it, leaving a small white edge on one long side
Step 4:  Pat VersaMark all over the back of both stencils
Step 5:  Remove the release paper from the piece with the blue mat and carefully center the Hummingbird stencil on the sticky surface with the VersaMark side against the sticky surface, use a piece of release paper to press the stencil in place, there will be a small sticky edge around the image
Step 6:  Apply the Lime glitter on the small edge one side at a time, then add China Blue and Lime glitters to the design, work in small sections at a time so you can tap off away from areas you want to protect, rub it in a little as you go
Step 7: Remove the release paper from the double sided mounting paper of the larger piece on white and carefully place the stencil on the sticky surface with the VersaMark side against the sticky surface, line up on one long side and the two ends, use a piece of release paper to press the stencil in place
Step 8:  Apply the China Blue and Lime glitters to the design, work in small sections at a time so you can tap off away from areas you want to protect, rub it in a little as you go
Step 9: Turn one of the glittered images face down on a paper towel and carefully peel the paper off the stencil making sure to keep the stencil flat on the table, apply Crystal glitter to the background, tap off extra, rub gently, repeat with the other image
Step 10: Cut along one edge of the Lace stencil image to create a scalloped edge, trim length to 5 1/2", adhere a 1/2" x 5 1/2" strip of blue to the uncut edge leaving a small amount of blue showing, adhere to the card front near the bottom
Step 11:  Use foam tape to attach the Hummingbird to the card front
