It's all about the dead!

I know, kind of a creepy title right?! Well, that's our Stampendous Design Team theme this Halloween week! We're featuring our favorite skeleton, skull, and overall spooky Halloween images with you for a final thrill before the big day! PLUS we have a Hop with Glue Dots this week!

I created this canvas for the Stampendous July catalog. It features the new Raven Skull stamp (CRR228). Add a few die cut leaves using the Leaves Die Set (DCS5068), a fun background, some May Arts ribbon and cool button, and hocus-pocus you have a great Halloween decoration!

Instructions

Step 1:  Paint a 10" x 10" canvas with black acrylic paint, dry well

Step 2:  Stamp the edges of the canvas with the Brush Stroke stamp inked with Moonlight White, and a 4 3/8" x 5 5/8" piece of black cardstock that has torn edges

Step 3:  Tear a piece of decorative paper to fit the canvas and ink the edges with black ink, attach to the canvas with Beacon Fast Finish, dry well

Step 4:  Use the Creative Palette, acrylic paints and a brayer to create a fall colored background on black cardstock, dry well, use the Leaf Die Cut set to cut some leaves

Step 5:  Stamp the Raven Skull on a  4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of white mixed media paper, tear the bottom edge, color with Chameleon pens, mat on a black mat 4 3/8" x 5 5/8", and then a mat of Lupine 4 3/4" x 6 1/2" with a torn bottom edge

Step 6:  Arrange the stamped black mat, Raven Skull, leaves and ribbons on the canvas, attach with double sided tape for the papers, 1/2" Craft Glue Dots for the ribbons, leaves and embellishments

  13. Great project. I remember the first time I got some glue dots. They were giving them away at a Scrapbook show in Orlando several years ago as we walked in. We were fortunate enough to be early in line to get one. After that.........I loved them.
