Garden Frog

Here we are at the final day of our Stampendous theme of "Where the Wild Things Are"! With all the great products and images Stampendous provides me to make samples for them, it's easy to come up with samples for every theme!

This adorable little Garden Frog (F236) pairs perfectly with the Dreamweaver Mushrooms stencil (DWLL3025). The fluffy clouds in the background are easily created using the Picasso stencil (DWLL332).

Step 2:  Stamp the Garden Frog image on a 2 1/2" x 3" piece of Mixed Media White Paper with Memento Tuxedo Black and color with Copic markers

Step 3:  Edge the colored frog layer with a black marker

Step 4:  Tape the Mushroom stencil to a 2 5/8" x 3 1/2" piece of Mixed Media White paper with removable tape, use 1/4" stencil brushes to color only the grass and stem area of the left most mushroom, use the Picasso to shield areas you don't want color in. Use a micron pen to outline the cap of the mushroom and add circles, color with R35 Copic to a 4 7/8" x 4 7/8" black mat and adhere to the front of the card

Step 5:  Move the stencil over so the small mushroom on the right side of the stencil is next to the one just colored, and tape in place, color to match the other

Step 6:  Tape off the holes in the Picasso tool, use a 1/2" stencil brush, Memento Bahama Blue ink and the scalloped end of the Picasso to add some "clouds" above the stenciled mushrooms. Add some clouds to a 2 1/2" x 3 3/8" piece of white. Edge both pieces with a black marker

Step 7:   Stamp the Spring Step saying on a 1" x 2 1/4" piece of white with Memento Tuxedo Black, edge with a black marker

Step 8:  Adhere a 4 1/4" x 5 5/8" piece of light brown cardstock to the front of the card

Step 9:  Adhere the stenciled mushroom piece to the lower left of the brown cardstock, then the other sky piece near the upper right of the brown

Step 10:   Use a distressing tool along the edge of a 2 3/4" x  1/4" piece of green Kraft-core before adhering the frog layer to the green mat

Step 11:  Use foam tape to add the frog and saying to the card front

While the Garden Frog image is sold out on the Stampendous website, it is probably still available at your favorite retail store or site!

Road Trip!

"On the road again...", can't you just hear Willie Nelson singing those words! Of course, now it will be running over and over in your mind for the rest of the day!  The Stampendous Design Team is working with a theme of "On The Road" this week. We will be featuring some of our wonderful stamps and stencils that fit this theme.

Today I'm sharing a fun card using some stencils and a great sentiment from the Campground set (SSC1253). I think it would work for a graduation card or inspiration card.
