Just Keep Swimming!

This week the Stampendous Design team continues our "Under the Sea" theme. Stampendous has so many wonderful products that fit this category! I'm lucky to be provided these images by Stampendous so I can create samples to share with you! (and, of course, for them!).

Not only does Stampendous have MANY wonderful "Under the Sea" stamps, but they also have MANY wonderful stencils to fit the theme too!  Today I used two Dreamweaver Stencils and a "Sten-tangle" technique to create my under water feel. The Open Fish (DWLL3038) and Large Scales (DWLX7023) stencils have great openings for  "tangling"!

This is pretty simple to do.
  • Tape the Open Fish to a piece of white cardstock with removable tape
  • Use your favorite fine line black pen to outline all the openings of the stencil
  • Remove the stencil and use the pen to create various patterns in each opening
  • Color with markers or colored pencils
  • Tape the Large Scales to piece of light blue cardstock with removable tape
  • Outline the openings with the black pen
  • Add patterns to each opening
  • Color with markers or colored pencils
  • Mount into a great card!

They are the perfect finishing touches to our designs. And what's a Blog Hop without some PRIZES!

Today my card features several stencils, some glitter, and, of course, a beautiful ribbon. I think it would make a wonderful wedding or anniversary card.

Instructions:
Step 1:  Fold a 7 1/2" x 11" piece of Sky cardstock in half to form a top fold card
Step 2: Cut a 5" x 7" piece of white cardstock, adhere to the card front
Step 3:  Tape the Border Flourish to the bottome right corner of a 4 3/4" x 6 3/4" piece of white cardstock with removable tape, use the stencil brush to add blue ink through the stencil, clean and dry the stencil, turn it over to reverse the design and tape it to the bottom left corner and ink a second flourish
Step 4: Use the brush and blue ink with the Picasso stencil to add some "clouds" above the flourish area and in the background of the flourish area, keep it light where the swans will be pasted
Step 5: Tape the Heart Swans stencil above the flourishes with removable tape
Step 6:  Use a palette knife and paste spreader to apply Glossy White Embossing Paste over the design, remove stencil and place in water for cleaning later, sprinkle the wet paste with Crystal Glitter, tap off extra, let paste dry
Step 7: When the paste is dry, use the Picasso and Embossing Tool to dry emboss the clouds to give them more dimension
Step 8: Adhere the swans to the white mat on the card front
Step 9:  Wrap a white ribbon around the card front and tie a bow
