August as an Adjective Finale!

Well, school has begun in our area so it's been appropriate that we broke out our dictionary for this month's Dreamweaver challenge..."AUGUST as an ADJECTIVE"!

Merriam-Webster defines august as, "marked by majestic dignity or grandeur", with synonyms such as, "dignified, distinguished, imposing, portly, solemn, staid, and stately". Now, I don't know just how dignified and stately the Dream Team can become for an entire month, but we are all going to give it a try! How about trying along with us, and linking YOUR creations to the inlinkz tool below for a chance to win the wildest stencil design your little heart is screaming for.

This week I'm in Cincinnati to celebrate my darling granddaughter's 2nd birthday! So I'm sharing a couple of oldies but goodies with you for this final posting of August. I think they fit the description of august beautifully, see what you think!

Here are my creations for this week:

LL374 - Long stem iris in Metallic Silver Embossing Paste
on white and silver shimmer papers

LL3010 - Tole Heart dry embossed with the Strie technique applied
LJ907 - Damask in background, also dry embossed and the Strie technique applied

See what the "B" team has deemed august this week:

See you in September!

Tiny Treasures and Treats

Welcome back to our Dreamweaver Stencils Thursday designer challenge. This month the design team has been creating lots of Tiny Treats and Treasures perfect for those occasions when you need "a little something" to give to others. We hope you have been inspired by our creations and have created a tiny treasure of your own to enter in our May challenge, there's still time, just add your link over at the DREAM it UP! blog or email a photo to lynell@dreamweaverstencils.com and she will post it for you.
May had five Thursdays, so this week we have a combination of team members from both the A and B teams participating.
My inspiration this week came from the beautiful black iris that are blooming in my front garden. We've been having terrible storms this week, so sometimes I cut one and bring it inside to enjoy before it gets battered by the storms. I have created an Iris vase to enjoy it in.
Long stem iris LL374

  • I started by power pasting 4 images using the Long stem iris (LL374) stencil, Glossy White Embossing paste and acetate.
  • After the paste dried on the acetate, I placed the stencil back over the dry paste and used small stencil brushes to add color
  • The vase is from IKEA, and is about 2" x 2" x 8 1/2".
  • You can fussy cut around the iris or just leave them (I left them, my acetate was 2" x 5 1/2")
  • Use glossy accents spread in a thin layer on the back of the acetate to adhere them to the vase, I put two lower and two higher
  • The shadow you see in the back of the vase is actually the back side of the image on the opposite side of the vase from the one you can see.
These would be great table decorations for a reception, or just to give as a gift to a friend or to yourself!
Take time to enjoy the creations from these Design Team members

Louise

A Bloomin' Spring!

How I wish I could say it felt like Spring today, but I can't! Even though the sun has been shining brightly the last two days, it has been very cold and very windy here in northern Illinois.  My daffodils continue to bravely grow a little taller each week and hopefully will be in bloom for Easter (oh my! I haven't even started Easter cards!)
This week the Dreamweaver Stencils Design Team welcomes our new members who will start posting with us in April. Welcome aboard everyone, we can hardly wait to see what you will share with us!
The cards I am sharing with you this week will be featured in my upcoming class in Marshfield, WI at Stampin' N Scrapin' Fun on April 4th.  Give Jean a call to sign up if you're in the area, we are going to have a great time! We'll be creating three cards using three different Dreamweaver techniques, and the Long stem iris (LL374)  stencil is yours to take home after class.

Want to learn more about how we create with Dreamweaver products? Give your local craft store a call to see if they offer Dreamweaver classes. Here's a link of Where to Buy locations. Your local store doesn't carry Dreamweaver? Tell them you NEED them to carry this fun line, or check out the online locations too.
As usual, the rest of the team has more beautiful creations for you, so be sure to stop over at their blogs to see what's new this week.

Happy Creating,
Louise

We have a new Design Team call that just started, so there's still time to submit your work. Check out the details over at our leader Pam's blog for all the details and deadlines.
Today I am sharing a card that I will be teaching in an upcoming class so I can't share all the details yet, but I think you'll be able to figure it out. Here it is:
LL374 - Long Stem Iris

Wouldn't this be a lovely wedding, birthday, anniversary, thinking of you....well, you get the picture! Simple, yet elegant, right in line with the Clean and Simple (CAS) style that is also part of our February challenge.

I hope you'll join our fun this month. Just link your creation on the DREAM it UP! blog using the Mr. Linky tool, or email a picture to us and we'll post it on Lynell's blog. Dreamweaver Stencils

Every week I tell myself I'm going to be more organized and stay on top of all my projects and deadlines, and every week I can't believe it's Wednesday already and I need to get my posting done for our current Dreamweaver Stencils Thursday challenge! This week I'm stepping away from the monthly challenge to share the three cards we'll be making next Tuesday, June 5th at Creative Cuts and Crafts in Elmhurst IL.  This will be my first time teaching at their store, so I am very excited to meet everyone and share these wonderful products with them. There are still 2 spots left, so give them a call to save yours!  We'll be using Dreamweaver Stencils beautiful Long stem Iris (LL374) to create three beautiful cards in three fun techniques:

LL374 - Glossy Blue Paste w/ Crackle Paste

LL374 - Glossy White Paste on acetate w/ Color Solutions

LL374 - Dry embossed and stenciled with inks

So even though these are not even close to being Black and White with a POP of color, or Graduation cards, I hope you've been inspired to create something beautiful with your stencils this week!
Next month we'll start a new challenge with the team from Art Glitter.  It should be SPARKLY fun!

Be sure to stop over at the other team member blogs to see what the are sharing this week.

Happy Creating,
Louise
