Butterfly Bookmark

Welcome to our Stampendous Dreamweaver Thursday! This week the Design Team is continuing to share some our creations from the October and January catalogs. These designs were just featured in our booth at CHA in Anaheim. We had a wonderful show, it always refreshes my creative juices to be around so many talented artists! Here are a couple of pictures from our booth:

The design I'm sharing with you today uses the Dreamweaver Vertical Butterflies stencil (DWLL518) to create both the background and a pretty bookmark for the recipient.

Stampendous:
SSC1213 Life Words

Dreamweaver:
DWLL518 Vertical Butterflies Stencil
DWGHB-6 1/4" Brush #6 Gold Handle

Plus:
Memento Tuxedo Black
Distress Inks mustard seed, wild honey, spiced marmalade
Bazzill Basics Cardstock - Daisy
Neenah Papers Classic Crest Cover Solar White 80#
Graphic45 High Style Holiday 4500196
May Arts Ribbon QKK18
Zutter 1/2" corner rounder

Instructions:
Step 1:  Fold a 7" x 10" piece of yellow cardstock in half to form an A7 card, round the corners with a corner punch
Step 2: Tape the stencil along the left edge of the card front and use stencil brushes to add color to the butterflies, remove the stencil and move to another part of the front until the whole front is stenciled with butterflies
Step 3:  Tape the stencil to a 1 5/8" x 5 1/8" piece of white cardstock (round the corners first) with removable tape, use the stencil brushes to add color, run the wild honey pad around the edge of the white cardstock
Step 4:  Mount the white stenciled image to a 2" x 5 1/2" piece of yellow cardstock that has rounded corners and edge with the wild honey ink pad, punch a whole near the top and add a ribbon to finish the bookmark
Step 5:  Cut a piece of decorative cardstock 3" x 6" , round the corners, edge with Copic BG72 or matching marker
Step 6: Measure down 2 1/2" from the top and 1/2" in from the sides on each side, and up from the bottom 2  1/2" , cut slits side to side to hold the bookmark, edge the cut edges with the marker, slide the bookmark through the slot
Step 7:  Use foam tape to add the decorative layer to the front of the card
Step 8: Stamp the saying from the Life Words set on white paper with Memento Tuxedo Black and trim to 3/4" x 1", mount on decorative paper 1" x 1 1/4", then on yellow 1 1/4" x 1 1/2", decorate with small pieces of ribbon and add to the card front
