The Spirit of Christmas

This week the Stampendous Design Team is sharing designs for our theme "The Reason for the Season". Today I'm sharing the beautiful Nativity Stencil paired with the Spirit of Christmas stamp. The combination of dark blue, silver and white create an elegant card to share with friends and family during this beautiful season.


Supplies:

Stampendous:
CRH321 Spirit of Christmas
MGK04 Valentine Micro Glitter Set - Silver, Crystal
EK01 Aspen Embossing Kit - Silver Tinsel
MMW811 Mixed Media White Paper
EPA50 HT400 Embossing Heat Tool

Dreamweaver:
DWLL554 Nativity Stencil

Plus:
My Color Cardstock Velvet Night
Double sided mounting paper
VersaMark Ink
Creative Impressions 1/4" Light Silver Gray Glimmer Ribbon 70267
Copic marker W6
Foam Tape

Instructions:
Step 1:  Fold a 6" x 9 1/2" piece of Velvet Night cardstock in half to form an A6 card
Step 2: Cut a 2 1/4" x 5 3/4" piece of Velvet Night and adhere a 2" x 5 1/2" piece of Double sided mounting paper to the center of it, leaving a blue edge all around
Step 3:  Cut a 2 1/2" x 6" piece white cardstock and adhere a 2 1/2" x 6" piece of double sided mounting paper to it
Step 4:   Cut a 2" x 2 3/4" piece of white cardstock and adhere a 2" x 2 3/4" piece of double sided mounting paper to it
Step 5:  Pat VersaMark all over the back of the Nativity Stencil
Step 6: Remove the release paper from the double sided mounting paper (on the blue paper) and carefully place the stencil on the sticky surface with the VersaMark side against the sticky surface, use a piece of release paper to press the stencil in place
Step 7:  Apply Silver glitter to the design, rub it in a little, tap off extra
Step 8: Turn the glittered image face down on a paper towel and carefully peel the paper off the stencil making sure to keep the stencil flat on the table, apply the Crystal glitter to the background, tap off extra
Step 9: Remove the release papers on the other two pieces with the double sided mounting paper and apply Silver glitter to them, rub it down well, edge each with W6 marker
Step 10:  Adhere the Nativity image to the larger Silver piece, adhere to the front of the card near the bottom
Step 11:  Wrap a piece of the silver ribbon around the card near the top and adhere with Mini Glue Dots, add a small silver bow
Step 12:  Stamp the Spirit of Christmas on a 1 1/2" x 2 1/4" piece of white with VersaMark, sprinkle with the Silver Tinsel Embossing Powder, tap off extra, heat set
Step 13:  Adhere the saying to the small blue mat then the small piece of Silver
Step 14:  Use Foam Tape to add the saying image to the card front

Blessed Nativity

Well Thanksgiving is over and we are quickly changing gears to Christmas! This week the Stampendous Design Team is sharing designs for our theme "The Reason for the Season". I could not think of a better example than this sample I created for the Stampendous July catalog. It shows it perfectly!

Blender Solution

Instructions:
Step 1:  Fold a 6" x 9 1/2" piece of Deep Indigo cardstock in half to form an A6 card
Step 2:  Stamp the Nativity scene on a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of white cardstock with Tuxedo Black ink, color the sky area first with B91, B93, B97, B99
Step 3: Lightly moisten a small part of the burlap rag with Blender Solution, press the moist portion of the rag randomly over the sky to give it texture
Step 4: Finish coloring the image and adhere it to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"  mat of Ocean Side
Step 5: Cut a 4 3/8" x 5 5/8" piece and a 2" x 2 3/8" piece of Madras Blue, use the B91 marker to color a small border around each piece so the paper will match the colored design 
Step 6:  Adhere the Nativity scene to the Madras Blue layer then to the card front
Step 7: Use the Stardust Pen on the star and randomly across the sky area to add sparkle
Step 8:  Stamp the sentiment on a 1 5/8" x 2" piece of white, color edges with B0000 and B91, edge with B97
Step 9:  Adhere sentiment to a  1 7/8" x 2 1/4" piece of Ocean Side, then to the small Madras Blue piece, then to the card front at the top right

Instructions:
Step 1:  Fold a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Parrot cardstock in half to form an A2 card
Step 2: Use the Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the Gift Giving  on a 3" x 4 1/2" piece of white paper, color with Copic Markers
Step 3:  Use a palette knife to apply White Glossy Embossing Paste at the bottom of the image to look like snow, sprinkle the wet paste with Crystal glitter, let dry
Step 4:    Cut a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of the striped cardstock, uses the foam applicator to apply a light coat of the Rocket Red ink around the edges of the stripes, adhere to the card front and add a 1/2" x 5 1/4" piece of Parrot about 1" up from the bottom edge
Step 5:  When the glittered paste is dry, mat the image on a  3 1/8" x 4 5/8" piece of Parrot
Step 6:   Use foam tape to add the Gift Giving image to the card

A Merry Little Christmas!


It's getting to be that time of year again. You know, the time when Santa Clause is coming to town! This little Seated Elf set from Stampendous makes a darling Christmas card for those on your "good" list! It's a great combination of stamps and matching dies making this a quick and easy card.



Stampendous:
DCP1005 Fitted Frames Set A

Plus:

Zutter 1/2" Corner Rounder

Instructions:
Step 1:  Fold a 6" x 91/2" piece of Firecracker cardstock in half to form an A6 card, round the corners
Step 2: Use the Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the images from the Seated Elf set on white cardstock, be sure to leave space around the saying for die cutting, color with Copic Markers
Step 3:  Use the Fitted Frames Set A to cut out the sentiment, cut matching layer from Firecracker cardstock, adhere the layers together
Step 4:    Use the Fitted Frames Set A to cut out a white layer and a matching Firecracker layer for behind the elf, adhere the layers together
Step 5:   Die cut the elf, present and bow
Step 6: Cut a 4 1/2 x 5 3/4" piece of Kiwi Vintage paper, round the corners, edge with Y06, adhere to the card front
Step 7:  Cut a 1/2" x 5 3/4" and a 1/2" x 4 1/2" piece of Firecracker, adhere to the Kiwi layer about an 1" from the left and  1 1/4" up from the bottom
Step 8:  Adhere the white fitted frame layer where the two red pieces cross, adhere the present at the center bottom
Step 9:  Use glue and glitter on the elf's hat and some dots on the present, let dry
Step 10: Use foam tape to add the elf to look like he is sitting on the present, and the bow to look like he is holding it, use foam tape behind the sentiment too
Step 11: Add some small Dot Sparklers at the ends of the elf's collar and on his one shoe to look like jingle bells

Instructions:
Step 1:  Fold a 7" x 10" piece of Madras Blue cardstock in half to form an A7 card
Step 2: Use the Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the images from the WF Decorate Set set on white cardstock, be sure to leave space around the saying for die cutting,  stamp the present four times, color with Copic Markers
Step 3:  Use the Fitted Frames Set A to cut out the sentiment, cut matching layer from Firecracker cardstock, adhere the layers together
Step 4:    Use the scalloped half circle edge from the Build A Pop Up set to cut out a "tree skirt" from the Pink Punch Vintage paper, edge with RV17
Step 5:   Die cut the colored pieces from WS Decorate
Step 6: Cut a 4" x 6 1/2" piece of Kiwi Vintage paper, edge with YG06, adhere to the card front closer to the top than the bottom
Step 7:  Arrange the die cut pieces how you want them, adhere them in place using foam tap on some to give more dimension
Step 8:  Stamp the sentiment in the upper left portion of the Kiwi background
Step 9:  Add various sizes of the Dot Sparklers around the background

Instructions

Step 1:  Fold a 7" x 10" piece of purple cardstock in half to form an A7 card
Step 2:  Tape the stencil to a 4 1/4" x 6" piece of light green cardstock with removable tape
Step 3:  Use a palette knife and paste spreader to apply Dreamweaver Regular Embossing Paste across the stencil, remove and clean the stencil, let the paste dry
Step 4:  Tape the clean, dry stencil back over the dry paste
Step 5:   Use 1/4" stencil brushes and the Picasso tool (LL332) to apply ink to the flowers (I used Splendor Ink Pads - Circus and Magic)
Let the inks dry or heat with a heat tool
Step 6:  Adhere the flowers to a 4 1/2" x 6 1/4" black mat
Step 7:  Adhere to the front of the card and add a pearl gem to the large flower in the lower left corner
Step 8:  Stamp the saying from Stampendous Thoughtful Wishes cling set (SSC1158) with Archival Jet Black ink on a 1 3/4" x 2 1/8" piece of white cardstock, deckle cut the edges to fit on a 1 3/4" x 2 1/8" black mat
Step 9:  Use foam tape to add the saying to the upper right corner

Happy Thanksgiving

Fall is moving so fast now! It's almost November and time to give thanks for the people who make our life so memorable! I just love the time leading up to the holidays, all the hustle and bustle of making these days festive and special for my family.

This week the Stampendous Design Team is sharing some of the beautiful Fall designs, perfect for the season. One of my favorite new stamps is this gorgeous Fall Arrangement PCS. The picture can't do it justice! It helps you create a stunning Thanksgiving card in no time.



Stampendous:
SSC1265 Fall Arrangement PCS

Instructions:
Step 1:  Fold a 5" x 10" piece of Goldenrod cardstock in half to form an A7 card
Step 2:  Stamp the Fall Arrangement on a 3 7/8" x 4 1/4" piece of white cardstock with Tuxedo Black ink, color with Copic markers
Step 3: Stamp Happy Thanksgiving on a 1/2" x 2 1/2" piece of white, color if desired
Step 4: Cut a 4 1/2" x 5" piece of brown cork (the back of the cork is brown), then a 4 1/8" x 4 1/2" piece of the turquoise cork, adhere together then to the card front near the top
Step 5:  Adhere the Fall Arrangement to the turquoise cork layer
Step 6:  Put some craft glue in the centers of the sunflowers and sprinkle with the Cinnamon Micro Glitter, use gold in the center of a couple of smaller flowers, let dry
Step 7:  Adhere the Happy Thanksgiving to a 3/4" x 2 3/4" piece of turquoise cork, then to a 1" x 2 3/4" piece of brown, adhere to the bottom area of the card front
