This week's Dreamweaver Stencils Thursday Dream Scheme is a designer's choice week, so I just had to use some of those great fall colors when I created this week. Here's what I came up with for you:
I know you don't normally associate a fern with fall, but this beautiful Sm fern frond (LM2006) stencil just seemed perfect for the serene feel I was going for on this project. The backgrounds were done with alcohol inks on glossy cardstock, the fern was paste embossed with Glossy Black Embossing Paste, edged with a black marker and it was all layered onto a black card. VERY easy!

Alcohol ink on glossy paper is a fun technique and your colors blended perfectly for that rich, warm fall look. The fern frond really stands out, and is quite beautiful and delicate.
your card looks like fall, yet feels very calm.
I love the card it is serene. the colors you used for the alcohol ink background are really stunning. Fall is in the air in california as well only in the form of Indian summer, temps in the 80's and 90's. JUst wanted to tell you, your cards really inspire me.
Wow! So gorgeous and yet easy. When I saw this card I was thinking that it was probably something complicated, yet it isn't. Thank you for all the gorgeous inspiration on this!
Another beauty! I just love using alcohol inks on glossy paper... they blend so beautifully. You captured the feel of autumn with your colors, and the fern really "pops" on top of it all.
Wow. You are really a busy girl! Curious about your "mirror technique"...what is this?
Love the fall colors of AIs on your background. The fern almost looks like a fossil on this card. Probably the photo, but very cool none the less!
Good question Pam. The mirror class is the mirror I had posted during the UK blog hop. If you look at the posting from then or on the store website you can see it. (I also had it at CHA)
I especially like the backgrounds--both of them. The fern looks great against that mottled green.
Your card is gorgeous, as usual. Looks like you have a busy few weeks Louise!!! Great job!! I hope all your classes go well this weekend!!!
Love the alcohol inks on the backgrounds and the simplicity of that leaf really makes it a focal point.
Lovely colours of the background really set off the fern stencil.
