And here's my interpretation of the sketch:
This reminds me of that old saying "an apple a day keeps the doctor away". I hope that's true because I've developed one of those annoying spring colds and I'm hoping it's a quick one! This is an easy card that would be great for a lot of different occasions, but especially good for an end-of-the-year thank you note to those favorite teachers out there! I used LS81, Small Apple, stencil and Glossy Red Embossing Paste on white cardstock. With the stencil still in place, I sprinkled some Ivy Garden, FX11, on the leaf and stem, and Kimono Red, FX15, on the apple. I used a soft brush to GENTLY swipe the powder over the entire image. Let it dry completely, deckle the edges, then mount on coordinating papers using the sketch challenge as your guide. A quick and easy design, but very eye-catching.
Now hop (it is almost Easter after all) on over to the DREAM it UP! blog for another great idea, then on to the design team blogs for even more ideas. Have a wonderful Easter.
Happy Creating,
Louise

Sorry about your cold...my "Liz" has one too...arghh definitely annoying. Hope that apple does the trick and keeps your health on track, great interpretation of the sketch...love the combo of the washi paper with the apple too!
Another fabby card Louise!! Get well soon. Spring should be showing up soon and there is stuff to do!! Take care!!
Louise I'm sorry your feeling under the weather but your card is so beautiful I love the apple and the way you interpreted the sketch. I hope that eating those apples a day have you feeling better soon.
Louise, a fun card. Feel better soon -- get sun shine if you can.
Hope you're feeling better soon. Your card is cheery and should brighten your day.
Love what you did with that apple! Most would have pasted and left it alone, but you had to sprinkle f/X on it. Wish I could see it in person. Great background paper with it as well. Feel better soon!
love it...only thing that could have been better...you could have used the PEAR!!!!!!
I thought I left a comment yesterday but didn't so glad I checked back today. This is so pretty and I bet the apple is just gorgeous with the FX powder! All the layers finish the card perfectly. I love the green layers at bottom - reminds me of the technique you used with torn paper and distress inks that looked like layers of paper!
I really like this card. It would be great for a teacher thank you, too. Anyway, I hadn't thought of brushing the FX while the paste was still wet--very clever.
