Curio Cat!

What's a Curio Cat you ask? Just the cutest chunky stamp you've ever seen!  This adorable stamp from the Laurel Burch line at Stampendous was part of the January 2018 catalog release and Curios are the perfect addition to your craft room decor when you finish your project!

Each lucky member of the Stampendous Design Team was sent two Curio stamps to create beautiful samples for you!  I received these amazing stamps:

Then the fun began! Stamping and coloring (my favorite step):

Cut out by hand or use the matching die from LBDCS02 LB Indigo Cats Die Set
Next you need to pick out some great papers. I know a lot of people pick their paper first, then color their image to match, but I find the image seems to tell me what colors to use, then I figure out the matching papers!

Before you know it, you have a fun, colorful card!

Step 2: Use the Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the LB Curio Cat image on white, color with Copic Markers
Step 3: Trim close to the image or use the matching die to cut out the cat
Step 4:  Layer papers  to create a background
Step 5:  Add the LB Cat to the layers, using foam tape under the head area and regular adhesive at the bottom of the cat
Step 6:  Use the Misti Stamp Tool to stamp the sentiment in the lower right corner

Hello!

This week the Stampendous Design Team has been celebrating Cats and Dogs!  Stampendous has soooo many great images and sentiments for this theme, it's hard to choose! Lucky for me, as part of their wonderful Design Team, I am provided many of these great images to create fun sample cards! Enjoy!

The Indigo Cats set from the Stampendous Laurel Burch collection is another purr-fect set for this week's theme!
"Hello Friend"

Stampendous:
LBCRS02 Laurel Burch Cling Indigo Cats Stamp Set
LBDCS02 Laurel Burch Indigo Cats Die Set
SSCL103 LB Floral Greetings PCS
MPW811 Mixed Media White Paper
Acrylic Handle

Plus:
Cardstock - Bright Yellow, Black
Distress Ink Reinkers - Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers, Mowed Lawn
Distress Ink - Picked Raspberry
Foam Applicator
Archival Ink - Jet Black
Baby Wipes
Heat Tool
Black Foam Tape
Die Cut Machine
Deckle edged scissors
Black Micron Pen
Mini Glue Dots

Instructions:
Step 1:  Fold a 6" x 9 1/2" piece of Bright Yellow cardstock in half to form an A6 card
Step 2:  Fold a baby wipe in half, then in half again, place several drops of reinker color along a fold, swipe randomly across an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of white cardstock, reink as necessary until the paper is filled with color, let dry or heat set
Step 3: Cut a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of white paper, use a clean baby wipe and only the pink, orange and yellow reinkers, swipe horizontally across the paper, use just a specific color to fill in where necessary until you have the look you want, let dry or heat set
Step 4:  Use the stencil from the Indigo Cats stamp set and the pink ink to add some designs around the background piece
Step 5: Use Archival Jet Black ink to stamp a cat and butterfly on the big piece of colored paper, heat set
Step 6:  Use the matching dies to cut the stamped images out
Step 7:  Cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of black, deckle cut each edge taking off just a very small amount, adhere the background piece to the black mat then to the card front
Step 8: Cut a 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of black, deckle each edge, adhere near the bottom of the background
Step 9:  Arrange the cats and butterflies on the background, using foam tape on the cat and two mini glue dots to the center back of the butterfly, add antennae to the butterfly using the micron pen
Step 10:  Stamp the "HELLO" with Jet Black ink, heat set

I was making these for a card club I belong to, so I was making 8 cards. I was able to get all the cats and butterflies I needed from the one 8 1/2" x 11" piece I colored.

One of these cats is not like the others, can you see the difference?!!
